FLURRIES OVERNIGHT, LITTLE TO NO ACCUMULATION
MID MOUNTIAN BASE DEPTH AT LOBO 26.1"
Good morning skiers and snowboarders, last night brought with it some flurries, increased winds, and about half an inch of new snow from Lobo upward. The snow higher up was fairlylight yesterday, so we can expect that a significant portion of it has been moved around, with Northwest winds gusting to 35mph at the summit. Yesteray's storm snow made for a great addition to our base, and let's hope for more later on this week, today we've got a pause with mostly sunny skies.
WIND AND TEMPS: Today's temps are expected to range between 9°F at the summit, and 25°F at the base, with mid mountain temps in the teens, and winds are expected to be fairly calm, out of the West gusting to 25mph at the summit.
FORECAST UPDATE: Looks like a little snow here and there until the weekend, with our next system being slightlywarmer, and rolling in from the Southwest. Other than that it's perfect skiing weather.
SnoFax, a snow report by the people, for the people.
Huge shoutout once again to Taylor @SkiGuy4844 for his contributions to SnoFax yesterday. Going to have to try to get him a reward for his awesome SnoFax initiative, Great descriptions, along with photo evidence. Highlights being the variablity of Liberty, and instructions on the best way to traverse around the top of Challenger. These kinds of unbiased, specifc reports are exactly the vision I had in mind when it comes to SnoFax. We can rely on each other for more information than ever, and the people can decide where and how the conversation flows. Read his input for yourself and consider it for the skiing today. He is hopeful that Liberty will get smoothed out with some wind.
As far as the snow stake cams, I could not tell you why they are gone, nor if they will be coming back. Perhaps somebody with their feelers in marketing could give us an answer.
I am excited to get up on the mountain for some tele-tuesday, action.
As always, remember to stay safe, and have fun out there.
