NO NEW SNOW FOR 24 HOURS
MID MOUNTAIN BASE DEPTH AT LOBO 24.9"
Good morning skiers and snowboarders, this is Mario with your SnoFax report for Wednesday, December 11th, 2024. Yesterday's skiing proved to be far better than I had been expecting, with the wind having worked wonders on the upper, and mid mountain. I would expect more of the same today as Northwest winds have been gusting to 45 mph through the night, and there's still plenty of free snow to move around.
WIND AND TEMPS: Today's temps are expected to warm slightly, but I would still come prepared for the cold. Temps are expected to range between 19°F and 28°F, and winds are expected to start shifting today and into tomorrow, from NW to SW. All of this under cloudy snowy skies with a chance for some snow.
That's really all I've got for today folks. The groomers are fantastic, the Tram is skiing great, the best most consistent turns are still in the Bowl. The bumps are getting a bit big on most tree runs, but nothing crazy.
FORECAST UPDATE: Let's pray from some snow today as it seems our forecast has pushed back our next delivery by a day or two.
NEW LIFTS SOON?
A little birdie told me that if the snowcats push enough snow around, that we might be able to see Shedhorn opened up this weekend, which would make skiing the Tram a bit easier without that middle road. Maybe the same is true for Southern Comfort as well. No clue how things are progressing over at 8-Shooter, but that whole side of the mountain being left to sit may do great things for the later season if we get even more snow before it opens up.
As always, remember to stay safe, and have fun out there.
