6" NEW SNOW @ LOBO IN LAST 24 HOURS (AS OF 5AM)
LOBO BASE DEPTH 35.1"
Good morning skiers snowboarders, this is Mario with your SnoFax report for Tuesday, December 17th, 2024. Back to back to back POW days in Big Sky as the mountain has been thoroughly layered on a cycle of pow, ski, repeat. Snow has been falling during the day, snow has been falling at night, bringing us more than a foot and a half in the last few days. It seems the sun is on it's way to pay a visit, so today could be your chance to score some of this most recent snow with some real viz.
WIND AND TEMPS: Today's temps are expected to range between 10°F at the summit, and 28°F at the base, with mid mountain temps around 20°F, and winds are expected to be fairly calm, gusting to 25mph at the summit out of the Southwest.
The wind has been shifting between NW and SW, as Lone Mountain seems to be the turning point for the weather. The forces of nature converge here bringing with them tidings of great pow. The Old Famer's Almanac has been consistenly right with a prediciton of powder feasts, let's just hope they're wrong about the famine. No snow expected for a few days.
