NO NEW SNOW 24 HOURS
MID MOUNTAIN BASE DEPTH AT LOBO & LOOKOUT 30.9"
Good morning skiers and snowboarders, this is Mario with your Big Sky SnoFax reprort for Monday, December 23rd, 2024. It's Christmas Eve's Eve and we've got overcast skies and some snow on the way. Colder air has mixed into our Jetstream, rolling in from the Northwest, hopefully going to trap some snow over our mountain this afternoon, before another system rolls in from the SouthWest. No change over night to our lower mountain, but our groomers should be ready to be gripped and ripped.
WIND AND TEMPS: Today's temps are expected to range between 18°F at the summit, and 34°F at the base, with mid mountain temps in the 20's, and winds are expected to be the calmest they've been for a few days, gusting out of the West up to 30mph at the summit.
It's Christmas week and you may not have guessed it here in Big Sky. Our mountain is skiing well, we have lots of fancy new lifts, but most of the other major ski resorts in the country also have great conditions. Certainly the crowds are ramping up this week, but perhaps the surge won't be as bad as we have seen in the past. Regardless, we have thousands of acres to spread out. Take some time this week and get to know somebody new out on the hill, make a friend, spread some Christmas joy.
As always, remember to stay safe, and have fun out there.
