NO NEW SNOW
MID MOUNTAIN BASE DEPTH LOBO AND LOOKOUT 30"
Good morning skiers and snowboarders, this is Mario with your SnoFax report for Tuesday, December 24th, 2024. Christmas Eve brought us a beatiful blood red sky this morning, and for some that is a sign of good snow to come. NW winds have given way to winds almost straight out of the South, gusting to 45 mph. Dave Stergar has documented some great, chalky skiing off of the Tram the last couple of days, so hopefully these winds don't blow too hard so we can have that open, and it recycles some of those soft turns.
WIND AND TEMPS: Today we are looking at more mild temps, with increased wind. Today's temps are expected to range between 27°F at the summit, and 36°F at the base, with mid mountain temps in the 20's, and winds are expected out of the South/Southwest, gusting over 50mph at the summit. All of this under a mix of clouds and sun, with snow expected this evening/tomorrow morning.
Sounds like Madison 8 is in need of repairs and it makes sense to work out the kinks early on the longest 8 person chair in the world. Tomorrow is shaping up to be a sunny Christmas, followed by a string of snowy days hopefully.
Finish out this year strong and make the most of all that winter has provided so far.
As always, remember to stay safe, and have fun out there.
