4-5" IN LAST 24 HOURS, WIND GROOMING OVERNIGHT
MID MOUNTAIN BASE DEPTH 35"
Yesterday's dumpage brought another healthy dose of powder, and overnight steady winds have swirled around Lone Mountain and are sure to have created some slabs, drifts, and smoothed out our skiing on the upper mountain. Expect Ski Patrol to be hard at work out there this morning, and if things open up you'll want to strike quickly before the wind and snow shut them down again. More snow globe skiing can be expected out there today! I wouldn't be surprised of the SouthFace has caught more than a foot of snow in places.
WIND AND TEMPS: Today's temps are expected to range from 10°F at the summit, and 27°F at the base, with mid mountain temps in the teens, and winds are expected to be steady, out of the Southwest, gusting to 40mph at the summit, and 20mph at mid mountain. Snow is expected all day long after 11am.
Be a part of the transformation as the mountain is going to be totally different after this week if things continue like this. The exact formula for great Big Sky skiing is being played out in the clouds, a few inches here and there with windgrooming in between. Can't go wrong out there today! Weather stations are showing less snow on the North Side, which I can't explain nor confirm, SnoFax needs you!
