6-9" NEW SNOW IN 24 HOURS, SOUTH FACE ANOMALY REPEATS, LIKELY 12"++
Believe it or not we have yet another bluebird pow day on our hands, so if you got out to ski the marvelous champagne powder one Tuesday while I was in Red Lodge skiing over stumps and rocks, feel free to sit this one out. This slow moving, N/NW system with single digit temps has already delivered 9" to the Liberty Weather station, and it could keep snowing until 9am, with the sun expected to pop for the rest of the day!
WIND AND TEMPS: Today's temperatures are expected to range between 9°F at the summit, and 25°F at the base, with mid mountain temps in the teens, and winds are expected to be calm, out of the North gusting to only about 15mph. All of this under Sunny skies come 9am.
This snowfall seems to have blessed the entire resort a bit more than Tuesday's snowfall, with Lookout Ridge on the North Side getting 9" in 24 hours as well. Dress warm and ready for lots of face shots, and ski with the end in mind as this amount of powder is enough make a man go crazy. Expect patrol to be busy this morning, but hopefully things go fast as they should have optimal visibility to deal with this new snow, that has blown in a little stronger than Tuesday's storm, which will have created larger wind drifts.
As always, remember to stay safe, and have fun out there.
