NO NEW SNOW FOR 72 HOURS, WARM TEMPS AND HIGH WINDS
MID MOUNTAIN BASE DEPTH 46" AT LOBO
Yesterdays warm temps and sun are sure to have altered our South Facing terrain a bit, but thankfully our base is deep. Mid January's mild crowds have made for lots of great skiing. The North Side is remaining cold and soft. NW winds have given way to SW winds this morning which are going to pick up an as the day goes on. Be ready for wind holds. It's hard to tell exaclty how today's skiing will play out, when you combine these warmer temps with high winds, this could be our last warm, spring skiing esque day for a while, as BAM we drop into the single digits with more snow tomorrow. Air temps are already warmer than yesterday's and the sun is not even up, be ready for things to get a little mushy out there, espcially if it's down and out of the wind.
WIND AND TEMPS: Temps are expected to range between 25°F at the summit, and 34°F at the base, with mid mountian temps around 32°F, and winds are expected out of the Southwest, already gusting to 45mph at the summit, and supposed to increase in intensity till the end of the day.
Lower mountain skiing should be pleasant and warm, so long as the winds don't increase too drastically down there. Temps will be single digits by tomorrow, near 30 degree temp drop so unless we get a good amount of snow, it's gonna firm up.
As always, remember to stay safe, and have fun out there.
