NO NEW SNOW FOR 4 DAYS
No new snow to talk about for four days now, and W/SW winds have continued gusting overnight over 50mph at the summit. More of the same expected today. I have continuously lost my battles with daylight savings time in attempts to get these reports out early, but thankfully there hasn't been any snow to talk about... Things down low are going to be firm and icy once again, if you're looking for an edge, stay on the groomed terrain. Temps rose to just above freezing at mid mountain yesterday afternoon, and have since settled back down into the mid 20's. More cloud cover expected today means less and less slushy snow to carve on, even if things do warm up.
WIND AND TEMPS: Temps today are expected to range between 18°F at the summit, and 37°F at the base, with mid mountain temps near 30°F most of the day, and SW winds are expcted to continue blowing over 50mph at the summit, and 25mph at mid mountain.
Snow hopefully just another couple of days away, but for now there's just not much going on. The North Facing upper mountain terrain is your best bet for consistent turns, as it is sheltered from these gales, and remaining cool enough from day to day. Pray for some big dumps this weekend!
As always, remember to stay safe, and have fun out there.
