NO NEW SNOW FOR 6 DAYS
No new snow for six days on Lone Mountain, and the spring cycle has repeated itself once again. Mid mountain temps hit the mid 30's, and are now back in the mid 20's and today there is no promise of sunshine to warm and soften things up out there. Steady spring gales have continued, shifting more Southerly, and gusting over 60mph overnight, sure to be swirling around some of our dusty corn snow in the Bowl.
WIND AND TEMPS: Today's temps are expected to range beteen 18°F at the summit, and 36°F at the base, with mid mountain temps in the mid 20's, and winds are expected out of the South, gusting over 60mph at the summit, and around 30mph at mid mountain. All under cloudy skies and snow, that is expected to fall all day long and into the evening.
It looks like this system is promising it's largest deposit of freshies with this initial wave of snow, but you can never be too sure. One thing is certain, several days of snow in a row, like we have forecasted is exactly what our skiing needs. Winter is on it's way, and returning with speed today. Layer upon layer of new snow on top of our already excellent base, and we could be in for some epic springtime lines, especially off the Tram and the Headwaters. Keep an eye on the weather stations today.
As always, remember to stay safe, and have fun out there.
