NO NEW SNOW FOR 24 HRS, 2-3" OF BASE MELT
Yesterday's spring weather brought mid mountain temps over 40°F, and we saw about 2 to 3 inches of our base melt away, no matter, it's still roughly 6 feet deep out there. Today is going to be even sunnier, even warmer, with even more slush to play in. Mid mountain temps are still above freezing currently, and the sun is already beginning to shine on the summit. Anything that firmed up overnight is going to soften up real fast.
WIND AND TEMPS: We're potentially looking at the warmest day of the year so far, with temps ranging between 32°F at the summit, and 52°F at the base, with mid mountain temps hitting the mid 40's. Winds are expected to remain relatively calm, out of the SW gusting to only about 25mph at the summit. All under mostly sunny skies.
Looks like the forecast is changing, like it always does. And temps tomorrow are not going to be as high as previously expected, and we could see more snow than rain if the clouds do swell. Today may make it hard to believe we have another month of ski season here in Big Sky, but I have faith in our base and that there's even more snow coming.
As always, remember to stay safe, and have fun out there.
