2-6" OF COLD SMOKE OVERNIGHT, AND FRIGID TEMPS!
ANDESITE: 2" LOBO: 4" BAVARIA: 6" LOOKOUT: 4"
It's gonna be a bluebird pow day on Mr K! 2-6" of pure cold smoke rolled in over night, and it's probably gonna feel like even less than that under your skis. This slow moving NW system likely loaded up the South Face of the mountain and higher elevations, with the Bavaria snow stake reporting the most snow. Expect beautifully snow covered trees and lots of great sunshine out there today.
Today's temps are expected to range between -2°F at the base, and climbing to high of 15°F at mid mountain by the end of the day so dress warm!. Winds are expcted to remain calm, swirling in from the North gusting to about 10mph at mid mountain.
Don't expect anything to open out there today, if anything does it will be minimal and will be the result of snowmaking, not this powder that's practically lighter than air. But this should still make for great turns on the sides of our runs all day long!
It stinks not being able to access the weather stations yet, but it seems the resort's map is pulling good numbers so far, except for the ghost inches at Lookout Ridge the last couple of days... those may seem insignificant but 3" of fake snowfall over week turns into an extra foot reported by the end of the month.. My current snowfall total for november would be no more than 24" of total snowfall. Ski Patrol likely has the most accurate number, but they've never been too keen on sharing, and are an industry of their own, shrouded in secrecy and unfortunately sometimes-- supremacy, but it's for good reason because they're absolutely badass!
As always, remember to stay safe, and have fun out there!
