1" ACROSS THE RESORT IN LAST 24 HRS
Great news! Our weather stations are bask up and running on the MT avalanche website. We've got another inch of snow across the resort in the last 24 hrs, and 50mph SW winds at the summit overnight. Expect some great wind buffed skiing in the bowl out there today. A handful of runs opened on Andesite yesterday including Silverknife, Africa, Ambush Meadows and Safari and I would expect some more rope drops today. They are working hard to get Elk Park ridge opened up later this weekend.
Fingers crossed for more storm skiing out there today, as weather continues to blow in from the West with force. Temps should be in the 20's across our skiable terrain, dropping into the teens at the top of the Bowl, winds are expected to gust to 40mph at the summit, and 20mph plus at mid mountain. Let's pray for a nice big dump today giving us free refills all day long.
Things are stacking up fast and it's got spirits high. Despite the slow start, people everywhere have been incredibly stoked and hopeful about this season. Keep your head on a swivel as you begin to hunt for face shots off piste remembering that skiing in Big Sky starts getting good with at 40" base. As always remember to stay safe, and have fun out there.
