LOBO: 7" LOOKOUT: 6.5" BAVARIA: 6.5" ANDESITE: 6"
Yesterday's bomb of a storm dropped 6" throughout the day, with another 1" falling overnight, bringing us 6-7" of powder in the last 24 hrs. Temps were in the 20's and have dropped into the teens over night, allowing this pow to continue to settle in at mid mountain, up high NW winds gusted to 30mph, windbuffing out yesterday's turns. And turns were indeed made up high yesterday, with Challenger open for public, and reports saying it was pretty good! More ropes to drop today, hopefully Elk Park Ridge and more. A rope drop run is something special, skiing untouched snow in bounds, but keep your wits about you!
Today's temps are expected to be similar to yesterday, ranging between 15°F at mid mountain, and 27°F at the base, and yessiree we can hope for even more snow today/tonight! Winds are expected to continue swriling in from the W/SW, gusting to 20mph at mid mountain by the end of the day.
Last I heard Moonlight's projected opening date was still about a week away, I wonder if there is anybody in the SnoFax community that can clear the air on that, especially now that we keep getting dumped on. Mid mountain base sits at 2 feet this morning at the SNOTEL, but there's still plenty of settling for this snow to do. Keep praying for snow and making the most of every inch we get! Thankyou all for your contributions to SnoFax. That's what this is all about. A snow report by the people, for the people. I am nothing special, I just love this mountain, together we are strong, and prepared to make the most of it.
