Another 4.5" in last 24 hours
The heavens opened yesterday delivering another 4.5" in the last 24 hours, that's 9" in the last 2 days! Most of this new snow fell straight down, with winds out of the NW not even gusting to 20mph at the summit. That typicaly means the higher you go, the deeper it gets. From the South Face to the Headwaters, once again there will be great turns to be had.
Today's temps are going to range between -2°F at the summit, and 20ºF at the base, with winds remaining calm, blowing in out of the Northwest. More clouds today which means possibly more snow! Let's pray we get some more surprise dumpage like yesterday.
This is exactly the kind of ski day that makes Big Sky spectacular. Yesterday your tracks got filled in as you skied, and we got another inch or so overnight to refresh it all. Layer by layer our patience is paying off and the base is starting to stack up big time. No going wrong out there, but once again it is still early and there are plenty of sharks lurking beneath the surface.
