NO NEW SNOW FOR A WEEK
No new snow to talk about for a week now, and I have been as sick as a dog. For everyone that has downloaded the app, I hope you were able to notice my updates, letting you all know that I was too sick to make SnoFax happen. For everyone that just calls the SnowPhone, that is my bad, I didn't think of updating that and my vocal chords were absolutely fried. I will make sure to recruit another radio voice for anything like that in the future...
Thankfully the last few days have been bascially the same days on repeat. WARM and sunny. Our mid mountain base has shrunken by about 4", which is not bad at all considering we have reached the mid 40's with all this sun. Overnight, temps have dropped by 20°F, meaning we are looking at some crusty conditions out there today. A thin layer of high flying clouds has rolled in, and the snow is not expected until tonight. Winds have already been gusting to 50mph overnight, and are expected to continue today. So all that being said, today should consist of flat light, and some bulletproof conditions.
WIND AND TEMPS: Temps are going to be wintery once again, ranging between 18°F at the summit, and 30°F at the base, with mid mountain temps in the 20's and winds are expected to continue to howl, out of the Southwest, Gusting over 50mph at the summit.
As for how the mountain is skiing, I couldn't tell ya I haven't really left the house for 3 days! But Iwould imagine groomers will be firm and fast, and the sunny ones could be icy, the North Facing slopes could still be chalky higher up, and any South Facing terrain is gonna be crusty. That's where SnoFax comes in! What have you seen? It is impossible for one person to know this entire mountain at all times, but I am thankful that you all have put your trust in me to deliver these reports and once again sincerely apologize to all the new users that joined just days before my family was struck with COVID-25. Pray for snow, call the snowphone, its gonna be updated, and contribute what ONLY YOU can to SnoFax!
As always, remember to stay safe, and have fun out there.
